They were brought there. After the Seaport we went to the Cider MIll and had Hot Apple Cider and Doughnuts. Yummy! It was at Clyd
es Cider mill the oldest steam driven mill. Then we went to University of CT. and seen the Point Avery Light House. Then we went to Stonington Point and seen the light house there.

All we did on Friday was go back to the outlet malls. We shopped till we dropped one could say. After that on the way back we went to find the Military Historians museum but it was closed. We did track down fort Trumbull state park and the USS Eagle the only tall ship owned by thte US government which is used by the Coast Guard Academy to train officers at sea. We ate dinner at the Seamans Inne back at the Mystic Area. The food there was good. I (Sean) had Lobster sliders. These were lobster on a roll. It was good with fries and Teresa’s veggies she did not want. The food was great. We also watched the Adam Sandler Movie Zohan back at the Hotel. It was an average movie. Somewhat funny but it was a little weird.

Yesterday we got up very early and started off on our way to Newington Ct. In Newington is the Headquarters of the ARRL. There is also the headquarters station W1AW. I did find out that people who work there use the callsign W1HQ. We had a great tour of the offices. While I had already met several people over the years, it was nice to see them again at thier home office. The excitement started when we walked across the parking lot to the radio staion W1AW. The station has 5 monoband beams on 20M which turn all togther. Because of the closer location to europe compared to Michigan then coupled with the larger antennas I had an instant pileup of Europeans. There seemed to be pleny of Germans and Italians calling. I did work several other countries.
Calling CQ/QRZ with W1AW for an hour was very simulair to my first time I was at K8CC another large station in Michigan where I was guest operating durring the CQ WW SSB contest one year. The stations at W1AW are very nice. They are using heil microphones which were donated by Bob Heil at Heil Sound. Thank you Bob. So, after operating at W1AW we went to yet another outlet mall. This time I was able to find some clothes that I liked at the Tommy Hilfiger Store while Teresa found another purse of sorts at the Kate Spade store. THe last time that She seen a Kate Spade store was in Chicago. I think there is one in New York. We then came back to Mystic and we ate lunch at Friendly’s. This is a resraunt chain that used to be in Michigan a long time but for some reason it is not there any more. The food was good and the Ice Cream Sunday that we shared was even better. After lunch we decided to go ahead and get our nails done. For the fist time I had a manicure. I am feeling my femine side lol. My nails do feel clean now. We then returned to the hotel and later on the vening we decided to just go out on a evening jolt and we went 5 miles to the north and went across the state line to Rhode Island. We went just a few miles and came back.

This am we woke up to the finding out that Barack Obama is now the 44th President Elect of the United States of America. If anyone would ask where were you then, we can say that we were on our honeymoon. This morning we went shopping in the Old Mystic shops. There were plenty of places to buy baskets, over priced furniture, jewelery, and many other trinkets and touristy items. Almost every shop there has the name “Mystic X”. We had lunch at a great place for hamburgers named 5 Guys. This place had a great burger. I could not finish the overloaded cup of fries at all. The burger was fresh also. For Dinner we went to Mystic Pizza. It was the location for the Movie name Mystic Pizza. The pizza was good but not as good as our home based pizza from Pizza Popalis.
While we were walking Downtown there was this blue whale. I thought that if Teresa gave it a hug she would bond better with nature.
We decided to take a trip through the local cemetary and there were many interesting grave markers that you can see in the photo album. I thought this one was interesting for those Ham Radio operators. Here in Ct. the local phone company is AT&T. That is the same place where I work for back in Detroit. It seemed that everywhere I looked there was another vehicle from AT&T. I can never go on vacation without seeing a work truck Uhhggg! This Evening we went to the nearby Strip mall which was run by Tangers. There is another Tangers outlet mall in Howell Michigan nearby our home. We baugh
t some good deals out there. Even though Mystic is a small get away, there are signs of civilization not so far away, actually in town there is Bank of America, Mobil Gas, and Dunkin Doughnuts.

We got up early and left Dubois, PA. By the way it is pronouced Du”Boys” and not like the french Du”bwah”. This was per the girl at the front desk of the hotel. This ties up the score after I thought we were in Youngstown PA when we were still in Ohio. I should had known better being from Ohio. So, we took off. Driving in the daytime is much better. You get to see the scenery and can see where it is the road is going. IT was very Foggy this mornging also. While we had a 5 hour trip ahead of us to Mystic. The traffic was not so full of trucks as it was last night until later on in the evening. The drivers in New Jersey and New York were very crazy cutting you off from switching lanes all the time. Too bad the state police who where running radar where not there a
t that time. We passed by Scranton the city the office is in and we passed by the exit for buttzville. The city just seemed kind of funy. We arrived in Mystic this evening about 5pm. Teresa and I made our first compromise. We found a resturaunt that had pizza and scallops. Yummy!. If you look to the side bar on the right I will have a link to photos we have taken thus far.

After having the wedding of our lives on Saturday November the 1st 2008 we spent the next day recovering from the perfect wedding and started packing our bags. Monday the 3rd we were off on our way to Mystic, Ct. Mystic, Ct. was chosen because is a place where both of us, now Teresa and Sean Fleming have not been to at all. We have set our compass to almost due east. We left about 1pm this afternoon and have arived in Dubois, PA. I am not sure what the pronounciation of the city is. This has become a small debate. I am sure that Teresa will be right as always. We got here about 7pm. It seemed as though the dark of night occured so early. As I remember now that is because we had just fallen the clocks back an hour. Here in Dubois we ate the a local resuraunt called the Dutch Pantry. I had the cup of spilt bean and ham soup that came in a small cast iron pot. The drive was somewhat raining and then at night it was very busy with trucks all around. We drove up and down the rolling hills of Southern PA thus far with the rudest truck drivers at night. I swear one almost ran me down while all I could see was the grill of the truck in my rearview mirror. Tommorow we will be back on the road to Mystic, Ct. I will take photos. Also, For those who want to know, I will be operating from ARRL HQ Thursday Nov 6th at about 10am EST. Listen for W1AW then.
